Hippie Granola

by Grandma Louisa

Combine and stir the following into a large bowl (13 quart is nice and big and leaves room to stir):
10 cups oats (regular or quick)
1 1/4 cups sunflower seeds
1/2 cup sesame seeds
1/2 cup flax seed, ground
2 T. Brewer's yeast
1 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped
1 cup almonds, coarsely chopped
2/3 cup pecans, coarsely chopped

In a small saucepan heat up the following over medium-low heat and bring to a boil, let boil for about 2 minutes:
1/2 cup coconut oil
3/4 cup real maple syrup
1/3 cup corn syrup
1 1/2 tsp. salt

After removing from heat add the following ingredients to the syrupy liquid:
1/2 tsp. maple flavoring (or other flavoring if you prefer: orange, coconut, etc.)
1 tsp.cardamom
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Pour liquid over dry ingredients. Stir until dry ingredients are well coated. Spread granola onto two greased cookie sheets. Bake at 300F for 25 minutes. Remove granola and stir it on the pan. Put back in oven and cook another 20 minutes. Remove from oven and let it sit to promote clumpiness.

After granola sits after being removed from the oven, stir in the following:
2 cups raisins, steamed  (You can add 1 Tbsp. of water and microwave for 30 - 45 seconds until raisins are soft and plump)
4 cups wide unsweetened coconut flakes

**Amounts and ingredients are per preference. You like nuts? Add more! You hate sunflower seeds, don't add em.

This granola is hippie and delicious! I love it stirred into greek yogurt topped with fresh strawberries or blueberries. Delight!
